Signing In and Your Account

Ways to sign in

MDflow uses social sign-in only. You can create an account or sign in with:

• Google
• Apple
• GitHub
• Microsoft

There is no email-and-password option. Signing in and signing up are the same action: the first time you authenticate with a provider, MDflow creates your account and its starter workspace automatically.

Use the same provider each time. Signing in with a different provider creates a separate MDflow account, even if both providers use the same email address.

Your first workspace

New accounts arrive with a ready-made workspace containing a My Documents folder and a Readme.md introduction, so you can start writing immediately.

What you see in the app

Your account name, email address and profile image appear in the workspace sidebar when your provider makes them available. This information is only shown to you — readers of your shared documents never see your identity or your email address.

Settings

Settings is where you manage the account itself:

• Your plan — upgrade to Pro, or manage an existing subscription through the billing portal.
• Personal Access Tokens — create and revoke tokens for the API, MCP servers, the Web Clipper and the editor extensions. Requires Pro.
• Custom domain — connect your own domain to your share links. Requires Pro.
• Support — a link to get help.
• Sign out.
• Danger zone — permanently delete your account.

Signing out

Signing out clears the unsaved drafts MDflow stores locally in that browser. Anything you have saved is safe on the server; anything you had typed but not saved is discarded.

This matters on a shared or public computer: sign out rather than just closing the tab.

Deleting your account

Account deletion lives in the danger zone of Settings, behind a confirmation and a short timed pause.

Deletion is irreversible. It cascades to:

• every document you own,
• every folder,
• every uploaded image,
• any active Pro subscription, which is cancelled as part of the deletion.

If you might want your content later, export your workspaces first — see 02 Exporting a Workspace. Once the deletion completes, MDflow cannot recover anything.

The same deletion is also available programmatically as a bearer-authenticated API endpoint, so connected apps can offer it natively. The iOS app uses this, for example.

Legal

MDflow publishes a public Terms and Conditions page and a public Privacy Policy. Both are readable without an account.
